Our homes are our literal comfort zones where we always feel safe. However, there are also accidents that happen at home that we cannot avoid. We should be extra careful in keeping our things in their proper places especially when there are kids around. In the kitchen, knives and other sharp objects should be kept in drawers, not easily accessible by children. In the bathroom, the medicine cabinet with tablets, cleansers, creams and Gilette products should always be locked.

Medicines lying around could be mistaken by kids as candy. Consumption of these products might have ill effects in their health. Home cleansers, and other poisonous materials should be kept in sealed cabinets or drawers for these could be deadly. Knives and other sharp utensils could end up cutting kids’ skin and wounding sensitive areas like the eyes and mouth. Shavers on the other hand, may not seem that dangerous but once put in the hands of children, could also wound them. So they should be kept in safe places.

Many parents would opt to child proof their home to avoid accidents negligence that they might regret due to their negligence. Children are not that well educated in terms of these things. They just think that they are free to play and roam the house without getting injured. It is the responsibility then of adults to keep hazardous things out of reach of children.
